Methods Development

The methodological projects carried out in our group aim at providing the technology for the characterization by solid-state NMR of nano-crystalline and non-crystalline materials, in particular of proteins. Solid-state NMR technology is still developing, in particular in the field of biomolecular NMR. In fact, because the optimum pulse sequences to be applied depend in a complex way on the external static magnetic field, the radio-frequency (rf) field and the magic-angle spinning (MAS) frequency, NMR methodology has to partially reinvent itself now that significantly higher static magnetic fields and faster MAS spinning are approached.

The current projects on methods development focus on:

Floquet description of solid-state NMR experiments

NMR at fast MAS

Transient-compensation in NMR pulse sequences
